Clicking "Back" in my web browser doesn't seem to work properly. Why?
In early 2007, the VCI Classifieds were "Ajax'ified". This means certain portions of the Classifieds were re-designed with AJAX technology. AJAX allows web pages to function more as an application on your computer instead of an older, traditional web page. If you've noticed how a small portion of some pages change, instead of the whole page, you've noticed the AJAX working. For many users the result is a faster and more pleasant experience. Google is commonly known as one of the largest companies to have embraced AJAX years ago.
What are "throw away email addresses"?
Throw away email addresses are email addresses from free email services such as Hotmail, Yahoo, GMail.
What free email services do you not allow?
Hotmail, Yahoo, GMail, FreeMail and Excite.
Why do you not allow "throw away email addresses"?
Email addresses from these free email services are often used for abuse because they can be created in a moment's notice with no owner validation. If you have what we consider a "throw away email address", we recommend you register with your internet service provider's email account.
When I click on an ad or a category it says "Loading..." and stops. Why?
Your web browser's security is set too high, preventing Javascript from working properly. The simplest way to fix this is to reset your browser's security settings to default.
I am unable to login after I enter my correct email address and password. Why?
Ensure you have validated your account. This is done by clicking the link in the email you were sent right after you registered.
Ensure you have cookies enabled. If you are blocking cookies from http://classifieds.vci.net, you will not be able to login.
Ensure you are using the proper password. Use the Forgotten Password link to have your password sent to your email address. You must enter the email address you registered with.
Your account could be in a suspended status. If you believe your account may be suspended contact the Classifieds Administrator.
How do I place an ad?
Register, validate your registration and then login. After you login you can place your ad.
Can I edit or delete an ad I already placed?
Yes! Use the "My Ads" link at the top of the Classifeds to edit or delete ads you've already placed.
How do I reply to someone's ad?
Replies can be made in two ways - phone or email. Anyone can view the phone number on the ad, if a phone number is included with the ad. To send an email reply you must be logged in and click the "Send Email Reply" button on the ad.
Why are some ads bold?
Some ads are bolded because the owner chose to make them stand out from the other ads. This feature is reserved specifically for VCI Internet customers. If you'd like to have this ability you can purchase a $5 mailbox account (paid quarterly).
Why do some ads have a camera next to them?
